world.The Egyptian designers had achieved great success and left a strong impression.
Having several visits from the officials and the interna tional design figures, the young
Egyp tian talents caught the world’s eyes and experienced the international exposure.
The Egyptian talents were Ahmed Fareed ; founder at { Fareed   Fareed } Home Furni ture
Design by “V tables”, Islam Hatem; founder at1 Imagine Studio ‘ by “Tanoura “,
Ebtissam   Farid , Ahmed Hussein and Mo- hamed   Zaghloul co-founders at ENCODE
design studio’ by “Dramatics Collection”, Mariam Hazem by” infinity collection” and
finally Radwa   Omran , Hend  Riad ,Mariam Hazem co-founder of ‘RE. design studio’ for
the Plastex fabric collection As for the 52nd edition of the Salone International del
Mobile being held in tandem with bi ennial edition of Euroluce , SaloneUfficio, and
Salon Satellite. Cosmit has sponsored a special award that recognizes exceptional
projects to support creativity and sustainable design, with a view to developing the
sensitivity to the environment and the needs of welfare and the quality of life of
mankind The criteria for the designs selected reflected the contempo rary lifestyle
trends, interpret their future development, and considered the use of technological
interfaces that responded to the criteria of functionality, originality, aesthetic merit,
marketability and respect for the environment. The creative energy of the young
designers who participated this year at the Salone Satellite award 2013 has been
rewarded The symbol of this edi tion and winner of the first prize is Tania da Cruz, a
young girl of Portuguese origin who captured the attention of visitors and especially of
the judges with her originality.
