إياجو اهدأ واسمعني جيداً. ألا تذكر كيف أحبت المغربي بجنون لأنه أخذ يتباهى أمامها بقصصه الملفقة؟ أتظنها ستستمر في حبه لثرثرته تلك؟ يالغبائك إن ظننت ذلك! فهي تريد شاباً وسيماً، أما عطيل فهو رجل أسود قبيح. ما الذي سيعجبها فيه؟ لذا ستنطفئ شمعة الحب بداخلها عما قريب وستبحث عن رجل وسيم يقاربها في السن، ويتعامل بمثل طريقتها، وعطيل لا يمتلك أية صفة من هذه الصفات. ولأنه يفتقر إلى كل هذه المميزات التي تجعله ينال إعجابها، فسرعان ما ستسأمه وتبحث عن بديل آخر. وإذا كان كل هذا صحيحاً- ومن الواضح أنه صحيح- فمن سيكون أفضل من كاسيو؟ فهو عذب اللسان، وله أساليب لطيفة ورقيقة يخفي وراءها رغباته وشهواته. إنه مراوغ بارع، بالإضافة إلى أنه شاب صغير وسيم، ولديه جميع المقومات التي تبحث عنها الفتيات الساذجات الحمقاوات، لذا فإن ديدمونا تتطلع إليه.

رودريجو لا أصدق هذا، فهي ليست كذلك. فهي امرأة عفيفة.

Besides, he’s young and handsome, and he’s got all the qualities that naive and silly girls go for. He’s a bad boy, and DESDEMONA’s got her eye on him already.
