الفصل 1 آل بينيت

من المفترض بشكل عام أن أي رجل أعزب ثري لابد أن يبحث عن زوجة، ولذا فبمجرد وصول رجل بهذه المواصفات إلى أي حي من الأحياء، تنظر إليه كل العائلات التي تعيش في هذه المنطقة باعتباره ملكية تخص إحدى بناتها، دون الاكتراث بمشاعره تجاه الأمر.
قالت السيدة بينيت لزوجها في أحد الأيام: “عزيزي السيد بينيت، هل علمت أن حديقة نيزرفيلد قد تم تأجيرها مؤخرًا؟”.
فأجابها السيد بينيت بأن لا علم له بهذا الأمر.
فكررت قائلة: “ولكنها استؤجرت بالفعل، فقد كانت السيدة لونج هنا. وأخبرتني بكل شيء عن هذا الأمر”.
لم يجب السيد بينيت.
فصاحت السيدة بينيت في نفاد صبر: “ألا تريد أن تعرف من الذي أخذها؟”.
“أنت تريدين أن تخبريني، وليس لدي مانع في أن أسمع”.
وكان في ذلك تشجيع كاف للسيدة بينيت.
“حسنًا يا عزيزي، تقول السيدة لونج إن حديقة نيزرفيلد قد استأجرها رجل ثري من شمال إنجلترا، وإنه جاء يوم الاثنين الماضي لكي يستكشف المكان وأعجبه كثيرًا حتى إنه قرر على الفور أن يستأجرها، ومن المفترض أن يأتي بعض خدمه إلى المنزل في نهاية الأسبوع”.
“ما اسمه؟”.
“بنجلي”.
“هل هو متزوج أم أعزب؟”.
Chapter 1 The Bennets
It is, of course, generally accepted that a wealthy single man must be in search of a wife. As soon as such a man moves into a neighbourhood, each of the families that live there will, without Ally inquiry as to his own feelings on the subject, immediately comider him the rightful property of one of their daughters.
“My dear Mr Bennet,” said Mrs Bennet to her husband one day, “have you heard that Netherfield Park has been rented at last? ”
Mr Bennet replied that he had not.
But it has, “repeated. ” Mrs Long has just been here, and she told me all about it.”
Mr Benne. made no answer
“Do you not want to know who has taken it?” cried his wife impatiently.
“You want to tell me, and I have no objection to hearing it.” This was quite enough encouragement.
“well, my dear, Mrs Long says that Netherfield has been taken by a rich young man from the north of England, that he came flown on Monday to see the place and was so pleased with it that he agreed to take possession immediately, and that some of his servants are to be in the house by the end of the week.”
“What is his name?”
“Bingley.”
“Is he married or single?”
