Oracom Construction Limited is one of the most prominent companies in
engineering and building fields. It is the most active and leading actor listed
on the Egyptian Exchange, NASDAQ Dubai and NYSE Euronext. In
1976, Orascom was established by Onsi   Sawiris under the name of
Orascom for general contracting and trade. Orascom CEO is Erg.

Oracom operates in the field of general contracting, in addition to
manufacturing supplying and installing building materials, tools, and
equipment. Orascom carries out infrastructure works and technical and
engineering consultations for its projects implemented in the Middle East,
North Africa, the USA and countries overlooking the Pacific Ocean for
customers of both public and private sectors. Moreover, Orascom imports
for implementing its works.
Orascom construction is currently implementing a number of projects in
Egypt’s New Administrative Capital in both residential and governmental
districts, where it is taking part in the building of the Cabinet. Orascom has
been also take by the Egyptian Ministry of Housing to build a church in the
new capital.
Orascom focuses now on the renovation of its hotels in El Gouna. It is also
considering how to make use of the initiative of the Central Bank of Egypt
to renovate the hotels. As about EGP 5 Million has been allocated for this
purpose.
Orascom has carried out and completed several landmark projects
throughout its
Successful history, which is full of great and major projects.   Orascom has
implemented many projects that have enhanced its position in the regional
and international markets, including Cairo Festival City, Smart Village, Nile
City Complex, Iowa Fertilizer Plant in the USA. Furthermore, Orascom has
built the largest two plants for electricity generation in Egypt.
