تدخل إميليا

عطيل تعالى، لقد أنهينا عملنا. فلتأخذي هذا المال لك. أغلقي الأبواب والتزمي الصمت.
يخرج عطيل.
إميليا ما الذي يتحدث عنه؟ كيف حالك سيدتي؟
ديدمونا لكي أكون صريحة معك، فإنني مندهشة.
إميليا ما الذي أصاب زوجك سيدتي؟
ديدمونا أصاب من؟
إميليا أصاب سيدي، زوجك يا سيدتي؟
ديدمونا ومن هو سيدك؟
إميليا سيدي هو سيدك.
ديدمونا ليس لدي سيد يا إميليا. فلتكفى عن الحديث، فأنا لا أستطيع البكاء، رغم أن دموعي الإجابة الوحيدة عن أسئلتك. أريدك أن تفرشي ملاءة عرسي على سريري الليلة، وأخبري زوجك بأن يأتي إلى هنا على الفور.
إميليا لقد تغيرت الأمور كثيراً!
تخرج إميليا.
EMILIA enters.
OTHELLO You’re in charge of this hell! You! We’ve finished our business. Here’s some money for you. Please lock the door and keep quiet.
OTHELLO exits.
EMILIA What’s he talking about? How are you, madam?
DESDEMONA I’m stunned, to tell you the truth.
EMILIA My lady, what’s wrong with your husband?
DESDEMONA With who?
EMILIA Why, with your husband, madam. My lord.
DESDEMONA Who’s your lord?
EMILIA My lord is your lord.
DESDEMONA I don’t have a lord. Don’t talk to me, EMILIA. I can’t even cry, though tears are the only answers I could give to all your questions. Tonight put my wedding sheets on my bed, and tell your husband to come to me now.
EMILIA Things have certainly changed!
