روس من فايف، أيها الملك العظيم. كان ملك النرويج يهاجمنا بعدد ضخم كم الرجال، بمساعدة كاودور، ذلك الخائن الآثم، ولكن ماكبيث واجهه دون خوف وقاتله، وكان النصر حليفنا في النهاية.

دانكن: إنها أخبار رائعة! ولكننا لن نسمح للسيد كادور بخيانتنا مرة أخرى، لتذهب وتأمر بإعدامه فوراً، ولمنح ماكبيث لقبه.
روس: سأحرص بنفسي على تحقيق ذلك.
دانكن: لقد خسر ما فاز به النبيل ماكبيث.

ROSS: From Fife, great King. The King of Norway was attacking us with great numbers of men, helped by that most disloyal traitor, the Thane of Cawdor. But Macbeth faced him without fear and fought him, and finally the victory was ours.
DUNCAN: That is wonderful news! But the Thane of Cawdor will not betray us again. Go and order his immediate execution. And give his title to Macbeth.
ROSS: I will make sure that it is done.
DUNCAN: He has lost what noble Macbeth has won (They all Leave)
