“I joined an academy of plastic arts to learn drawing. Afterwards, I had got the course of
“Black & White Academy”, but, at first, this instution did not accept my enrollment
because I was just 11 years old, while the minimum age was 12. However, the Academy
accepted my enrollment after reviewing a number of my paintings to approve joining
the course of decor, which includes drawing using pencils and pens and in black and
white charcoals Then I joined a course of abstract arts,” said Mekawy.
The young artist exerted efforts to develop he talent individually, so she took part in
severe competitions, including a competition organized by the Egyptian Ministry of
Education nationwide, in which Mekawy was ranked first Mekawy also competed in a
competition at the Indian Embassy in Cairo, where she was awared a prize after coming
first too.

Journalists, the Pharaonic Village and Cairo Opera House. Moreover, she took part in
