WHEN PIONEER SIPIRIT MEETS AN ALCHEMIST
KARIM MEKHTIGIAN
Keji marks the birth of a revelatory experience and is the first of several
outles on the Sunset boat has undergone a complete transformation in order
to introduce the new Peruvian hot-spot on the Nile in the city of lights, the
metropolis Cairo.
The subject of the design concept is built around a new take on culture, joy
of life leisure which are directed towards personal growth and the courage
to invite new experience to a city with many social layers.
Karim Mekhtigian created an environment that pushes the boundary of just
“eating and drinking” and immerses the guests into a special state of mind.
Surrounded by the Nile, Karim Makhtigina capitalized on the unique
location and incorporated the mood to convey an unconstrained message to
all senses.
Every corner of Keji address a different angle of sensory pleasure where
the objective of design is not to give a statement but rather glorify the
moments spent in the restaurant.
Karim Mekhtigian’s design philosophy exacts a multi-sensory space where
innovation, beauty and knowledge merge into a life style that revolves
around the subtle celebration of the now.
The interior of KEJI showcases two design elements that dictate the theme:
the golden metal curtain that envelops the light like a shimmering veil
defining its openness and intimacy. And the, there is the long bar, slick and
setlower, its presence is quality dominant and discreet.
The gallery with its seating allows for privacy that is connected without
direct participation with the space below.
