The units
The overall design system is built regardless of the individual design of each
of its constituent units. Its proposed that each unit is to be custom designed
suiting the needs of its residents, developments in the field of “mass
customization’ may allow that through an interactive forum, or even
through a traditional architect system. anyhow, the design of the individual
units is a mere input in the process, but for the sake of simplifying the
experimentation, a unit generator algorithm has been developed to provide
the system with random sized units , based on a fixed modular system, the
result was about approximately 40 different unit prototypes Note that each
unit is provided a sahn . And that the clearance volume of the sahn has been
calculated, and treated is an integration to the volume of the unit. Thesahn
clearance volume is calculated based on the floor area of thesahn, and with
a hypothetical sun angle of 37° on the horizon, in the south direction.
