CITY REVIVING AFTER THE EVACUATION OF THE
OCCUPATION
At the Association’s General Assembly meeting where was held in Jordan
in December 2017, the
Executive Committee adopted the competition and discussed its idea and
plan. In addition to adopt “El- Quds is the Capital of Palestine” activity.
The inauguration of the competition included the launching of the
conference logo design competition and the best design will be selected in
early September 2018. The winner will be rewarded with US $ 1,000, a
subscription fee and four complimentary competition subscriptions prizes.
The deadline for delivering the designs will be at 9:00 pm on 9th
September, Palestine Time, and they have to be e-mailed at
competition@arabarchitect.org . The preparatory committee for the
conference and the competition were announced, which includes experts
from Arab countries, and the committee is headed by Eng. Gad Thabet ,
head of the Arab Architects Association, and its Rapporteur Architect
Hamdi   Elstouhi , (Egypt), Dr. Nazmi Al- Ju’pa and the architect Dr.
Shadia   Toukan (Palestine), Architect Dr. Hla   Aslan (Syria), Architect Dr.
Mahdi   Saleh Al- Fraj (Iraq), Journalist Elias Khoury and Architect
Firas  Mortada (Lebanon), Architect Dr. Wa’el El-Masry (Jordan).
The press conference was attended by the Secretary- General of the Union
of Arab Engineers, Dr. Adel Al- Hadithi , Architect Gad Thabet , head of the
Arab Architects Association, the members of the Preparatory Committee,
the Ambassador of Palestine to Lebanon, the former heads engineers’
syndicates and the former heads of Arab architects Association,
representatives of the Arab engineering associations and syndicates, free
professions associations in Lebanon, Arab and Lebanese organizations,
Arab, Lebanese and international media, as well as a host of interested
