Egypt’s New Science City presence and unique operation on this symbolic site on the

western edge of Greater Cairo, in the heart of the 6th October City that will create a
new active public realm that will house the first 21st Century Science Museum,
learning and research facility in Egypt continuing the tradition of great museums of the
world being major cultural anchors of city, the Nation and its People.
The Science City public realm start with the notion of layered landscapes, shading
canopies and a playful flowing river. This notion creates journey of learning and
discovery with intuitive orientation while moving through exciting changes in
topography and changing light conditions for visitors to navigate the new complex.
The public realms organization is designed with full flexibility for expansion, allowing a
series of zones within the   Park where temporary pavilions or exhibitions could be
accommodate or future potential new buildings to be developed.
The design proposal has identified the importance of planning for the current
assumption for phasing and construction. Within the 1st Phase of the project, all
critical functional and relational programs and access for visitors and museum
servicing, are located within the southern parcel of the site, allowing for the 2nd and
3rd phase of construction of the project to proceed with minimal impact to the visitor
experience and functional program within Phase 1,
