Micro clumate – winds
Prevailing winds are from the north. Wind corridors along this direction help to channel
the wind and take advantage of the local breezes.
The courtyards open to the northerly winds catch breezes and mitigate heat during the
day.
Because of their enclosed form, the courtyards provide good shade during the morning
and the evening.
Locating wind turbines in the exposed areas to the prevailing wind gives an opportunity
to showcase different technologies and enhance the educational experience.
Permeable spaces along the sidewalks provide temporary shelter from the sun and heat
relief for the visitors. These spaced could be combined with landscaping and water
features to maximize passive cooling.
