As a confirmation of our approach to highlight the large companies with strong
commitments to the community working in it, next design periodically meets these
huge entities in order to highlight their models for adoption by other companies, so this
was our meeting with Engineer/ Majid   Helmy.
Saint-Gobain Group Is a strong sponsor of conferences and has a scientific basis and
specifically the sustainability part. So please explain why have you chosen this
approach?
Saint-Gobain has a globally general orientation towards sustainability and green
architecture besides we have specific commitments through focusing on three basic
axes:
• Impact on the environment.
• Economic growth.
• Commitment to the community.
And these are in all the countries that Saint-Gobain exists in and that commitment
reveals in our tendency to spread in all major projects and various sectors, whether
government, private sector or investment, and also the last consumer through agents and
distributors integrated network through all over Egypt.
In our systems, preserving the environment and supporting sustainable development are
our essential aims, and also to provide all the innovative solutions to the Egyptian
society while maintaining the highest levels of safety and comfort for the users of our
systems in building materials, finishes and high quality interior fittings. As well we
haven’t forgotten our important role towards the Egyptian society by training cadres and
graduating high level technicians from training schools in all over Egypt, and creating
job opportunities for them, as well as our important role in serving the Egyptian society
through the social activities in Upper Egypt and the poor areas.
