Over fifty years of contributions,
Nabil   Ghaly solved the difficult equation through mixing the Egyptian
successive civilizations, particularly the Islamic civilization, with the
modern concepts of architecture. He maintained the identity of Egyptian
architecture after updating its concepts.
Nabil   Ghaly is an Egyptian architect who has great professional experience
extending throughout fifty years. He is a member of the International Union
of Architects, deputy chairman of the Society of Egyptian Architects (SEA)
and deputy head of the Africa Union of Architects. FUZED Magazine has
an interesting interview with Ghaly about the Egyptian architecture and his
vision to develop it.
Nabil   Ghaly graduated from Faculty of Fine Arts, Architecture department, in
1962. He followed the suit of his professors like Hassan Fathy and Ramses
Wissa   Wassef, who have taught him “the art of architecture”. He majored
in architectural heritage.
“I’m an excellent student and grateful to my teachers,” Ghaly said. “I
followed in their footsteps through mixing the architectural heritage with
modern requirements and the nature of Egyptian environment. This step
aims at preserving the Egyptian identity and its architectural style over the
ages and meeting all modern requirements in light of the change of
cultures,” he added.
Ghlay has designed many architectural masterpieces with his unique
architecture philosophy, including “Al- Wesol” square, the first square for
pedestrians, where concerts are held. Such masterpieces also included
“Movenpick Hotel”, located in the heart of Sharm el Sheikh’s Naama Bay,
