In his interview to FUZED Magazine, Ghaly urged those architects to make
their architectural thoughts be inspired by the Egyptian identity and the
nature of Egypt and its climate. He pointed out that these architects should
make use of the Egyptian nature and adapt its aspects in building, so that
there will be no need for air conditioners. He noted that this method will
consequently lead to reducing wasted energy and its high costs. Ghaly
explained that the concept of “green architecture” should be adopted.
In the other hand, Ghaly levels harsh criticism at the widespread aspects of
modern buildings nationwide, particularly in Egyptian new cities. He said
that architects responsible for such buildings lacked creativity and resorted
to blind imitation of the western architecture. Ghaly explained that the
western architecture doesn’t cope with the Egyptian climatic nature, such as
the use of glass facades in houses in places, whose winter lasts only for one
month, especially in the new cities.
