He founded many real estate development companies and contributed to
establishing several new cities in Egypt. Sabbour occupied the position of
Chairman for the Egyptian Businessmen Association and the Egyptian-US
Business Council, which was overseeing the expenditures of over $ 1 –
billion US military aid granted to Egypt in the 1980s and 1990s.
Moreover, Sabbour was chairman and Board Member of a group of
companies operating in engineering and architecture or related similar
activities; such as Oriental Resorts for Touristic Development, Al Ahly
Urban Investment Company, Sinai Management and Development
Company, Egyptian Construction & Services Company, (ECSCO), Misr
America for Development, Federation of Arab Businessmen and General
Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI). He also was a board
member of the Center for Advancement of Post-Graduate Studies and
Research in Engineering Sciences, Faculty of Engineering – Cairo
University.
In 1986, Eng. Sabbour travelled to Libya, where he gained, as he still
confirms, excellent work experience. After his focus was only on residential
buildings in Egypt, he found out, in Libya, that the importance of such
buildings comes following the necessary concentration on infrastructure
such as water, sewerage, power, roads and factories’ projects. Furthermore,
Libya’s openness, at that time, towards Europe led to fierce competition
with the most pioneering global offices in this field. Accordingly, Eng.
Sabbour has learnt how to put up offers and compete for quality instead of
costs and prices, and thus, his level has been greatly promoted to gain
excellent reputation on all levels.
Eng. Sabbour has partaken in planning and implementing new cities
constructed by the State with a view to reducing the population density in
Cairo. Such new cities include: 10th of Ramadan, 6th of October,
