In this edition, which represents a celebration of our architects from
different directions and generations; it was necessary to meet successful
models of middle generation who is near to the Egyptians youth architects.
In this context, Hani Maher; the Egyptian architect, can be considered as a
representative of the middle generation who is near to the youth
generation. His journey began with the architecture on the public level
when was invited to share his ideas as representative of the youth
architects in a cultural salon under the patronage of the Ministry of culture
when Farouk Hosni was the Minister of Culture. Maher was one of the
invited group of Egyptians youth architects as well as being one of the
representatives of his architectural generation in the architect salon in
Bulgaria in 1991. That experiment has produced different ideas represent
the youth generation which now represents the largest segment of the
architects in the Egyptian consulting offices who guide the urban pattern in
Egypt and the Middle East too
HANY MAHER:
Maher established «Archilab Studio» which became his tool in
implementing architectural ideas he believes in. He implemented variety of
functional projects that include work in various sectors, whether in housing,
public buildings, mixed-use, commercial buildings or hotels. « Archilab »
works also in the planning field.
New Administrative Capital
To confirm that «Maher» thinks in a different way in his views about
architecture and urbanism, he has individually initiated work to develop a
comprehensive conception of planning the New Administrative Capital,
with self-initiative and without any assignment from any entity, through
Archilab for almost a full year. Then he presented his conception for the
societal debate during the beginning of 2015 through many events both in
Conference Hall in Cairo,
