The Campaign works on a cultural and art axis, based on the field of
knowledge. The fifth dimension here played a major role as it let me
perceive the value of the Salvage Project of Abu Simbel Complex. A value
that surpasses the direct engineering and archeological’ dimensions. The
starting point was in 1998 when I stepped for the first time into the space
of the concrete dome that forms the artificial hill which houses both
temples. Since then, the way I looked at that project has been developing
and maturing like a spiral, like the Learning Spiral shown above, leading
me eventually to found the Campaign in 2013.
The Campaign is meant to celebrate the golden anniversary of the Salvage
Project of Abu Simbel Complex. We achieved this vision through a series
of events that will continue until September 22, 2018, the date that marks
the golden jubilee of the termination of the salvage operations and the
inauguration of the Project. Our target here is to evoke the state of human
solidarity that over whelmed during the salvage oprations.
The Campaign’s activities are directly related to the concept of preparing
for the emergence of a new sparkle, not only through the appreciation of
the values of integration, collaboration and self-denial, but also through
evoking a civilization witnessed by such a great monument.
Our activities are bilateral; the first group of activities is based on a cultural
and artistry platform, and accompanies the Sun Festival Celebrations. The
other group is a cultural-knowledge-based activities represented through a
series of seminars, articles and TV interviews and coverage.
