this year all the exhibitors care for new materials to show its feasibility in design , such
as “plastics” which showed extra ability through the modern industry to produce several
ideas about furniture pieces and lighting units by the same material.
CAIRO AND MILAN “DIFFICULT COMPARISON”
Comparison between Cairo and Milan in design or its industry seemed unfair and so
cruel, for many reasons : First Italy produce many thoughts of design all over the world
even the Italians proud of the named ” made in Italy ” because it gives confidence to
their customers and this point specifically make the producers know that they are only
the producers for the world meaning that the field of marketing is for the whole world,
while in Cairo we have only Cairo as a market suffering to know people’s tastes in order
to market your product, while the important point in Italy is the ability of working
perfectly on the other hand we may find the small maker produce only one type of
ce ramic for an example because he has his own huge market supported by the state ,
while in Egypt you have to do everything in order to go on , in Italy they working in a
comprehensive system related to state supporting new ideas to create many markets
for each producers but here we work as if we work in isolated islands, let me say that
when I were a new designer in 2001 “we started as a five persons” in the beginning I
myself used to do everything from the design to the product and all the degrees of
marketing , while the designers there immediately find who assist and
support their ideas on the contrary we can’t find that here .
