INDICATIONS OF IMMEDIATE HEAD CT (WITHIN 1 HOUR) IN ADULTS | INDICATIONS OF IMMEDIATE HEAD CT (WITHIN 1 HOUR) IN CHILDREN |
يتم طلب أشعة مقطعية بشكل عاجل (خلال ساعة) على الرأس في حالة:
1. Suspected open of depressed skull fracture. 2. Signs of basal skull fracture. – Battle’s sign → retro-auricular eccymosis – Raccoon eye → peri-orbital eccymosis – Hemotympanum – CSF rhinorrhea, otorrhea 3. Post-traumatic seizure (with no Hx of epilepsy). 4. Focal neurological deficit. |

– Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) < 13 when first assessed or GCS < 15 two hours after injury.
– 2 or more episodes of vomiting. |
– Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) < 14 when first assessed or GCS < 15 two hours after injury.
– Infants <1 year: bruise, swelling or laceration > 5 cm on the head. – Suspected child abuse injury. |
Any patient with coagulopathy of on oral anticoagulants should have Head CT within 8 hours of injury if the previous risk factors are absent. | Immediate Head CT (within 1 hour) if 2 or more of the following present:
