Biotransformation of the tetracyclines seems to be limited in most domestic animals, and generally about one-third of a given dose is excreted unchanged. Rolitetracycline is metabolized to tetracycline. Doxycycllne and minocycline may be more extensively biotransformed than other tetracyclines (up to 40% of a given dose).
