Charcoal on his desk, his paintings around the desk in his own
studio” MA Studio”, and leaving the state of harmony during his work
at his office, as he described his relation with office as an Aquarium
“if you leave , you die”, Architect Ahmed Mito died in silence, after he
has enriched the Egyptian, Arab and international architecture with
his work and distinctive architecture.
“It’s worthless to be an Egyptian”   “ architecture is e face of the
nation, and we are the makers of nations” . These were the last
words said by the ate architect in his last interview with FUZED
months ago” and this gives an understanding of is unique style, the
national orientation, and g reat ideas that he adopted and defended.
Engineer Ahmed Mito was born on 5 November 1 966, graduated
from the Faculty of Engineering, d epartment of Architecture of the
University of Air Shams, he obtained a master’s degree and
doctorate in architecture, took several positions in the state including
architectural adviser of the m inistry of Culture, architectural adviser
of the s upreme Council of Antiquities in 2010, director of .e Egyptian
Academy of Arts in Rome, he also presented Egypt on several
occasions such as V enice Biennale in 2010 as general coordinator,
r’no Biennale in 1997.
Mito” won a lot of awards since his graduation, m uch as international
competition prize for the d evelopment of Dar el kotob in Bab EI-
khalq , the vestment Bank, the multi-purpose complex in Na sr City,
Housing and Development Bank private museums’ competition at
cities: Mahala , Hughada , Mansoura, Edfu , in the cities, AI
Mahala   Hurghada , Mansoura, Edfo . the memo rable in Rafah , Nile
University, University of Badr , Egypt’s division in Venice Biennale for
architect ure.
The late creative architect had a credit of unique works that places
him as one of the greatest .architects around the world including
Alexandria library building, the Constitutional Court, to   be the absent
and present with his work and also present with his ideas for the
coming generations.
