Artist Ahmed Mito is characterized by his own special architectural vision.
“Architecture is the face of the nation,” he said. Mito thought that there
was a relation between an era and architecture, especially the regarding
political aspect. “Architecture is for rebels,” he reiterated. Accordingly,
Mito established his career upon this saying. He is characterized by
creativity and rebellion against rules.
Mito is regarded as a first-class academic professor, as he has his own special
philosophy in dealing with his students to create a generation with creative
abilities and rebellion against traditional ideas. He praised the January 25th and
the June 30th revolutions, as they unleashed the great will of the Egyptian
people.
“If philosophers are able to change the peoples, architect is the one who
makes those peoples” Mito said in his last interview with FUZED
Magazine. He put emphasis on the need for paying more attention to
architectural art and engineering that identify the nations’ identity and
restore the physiological system of community.
Mito thought that architectural art and engineering would reshape the
civilization of community, as was the case with Dubai. Finally, Mito, the
engineer, artist and academic professor, left our world, leaving his ideas
and works which became a distinctive milestone in the history of modern
Egyptian architecture for the coming generations.
