Cairo fate after moving the administrative center to a new capital: As far as the
importance of moving the capital we must re-plan Greater Cairo and interests in
historical, touristic and cultural places.
The proposal of the new administrative capital east Cairo: The proposed capital is
located east of Cairo between Suez/Cairo/ Ain Sokhna road after madinaty and future
city, where just 45 km from Cairo and 60 km from Suez, and the proposed capital area
is about 700km2 to accommodate from 5 to 7 million inhabitants (population density
of 45,000km2 equal 120,000/mile2-urban density of 7,1 00km2 equal 18,000/mile2),
where parliament, presidential palaces, ministries and embassies will be moved and
the capital will be established between 2020-2022 at coast of 45 billion dollars, plan
includes 100 district and 21 residential area, metro linking with Cairo, 250km2 of
road networks and tracks and international airport (15km2), also contains public
garden (4km2), 90km2 planned for solar energy fields, diplomatic neighborhood,
business center, universities, international hotels, exhibitions and commercial malls,
and also contians 1,1 million residential units and innovation center (technology and ~
innovation area) and an experiment center, the proposed capital’s pros are providing
1.7 million permanent jobs, update administrative and service facilities, alleviate
overpopulation in old Capital (Cairo), and increase the residential area from 7 to 25%
after moving administrative buildings, so new capital may be a model to update the rest
of cities,
