In order to overcome this problem we target major projects to be able to
cover its costs, which are higher than the other buildings with non-precast
concrete. In fact, there are three factors that can help spread the culture of
pre stressed and precast concrete use in Egypt. Firstly, engineers and
consultants should start taking steps to raise awareness through describing
the meaning of pre-stressed and precast concrete in terms of lacking the
ability to design with the use of such concrete among several categories of
individuals. Secondly, “Design Code” should be used by the centers of
building researches to make the various processes of design and building
easier. Thirdly, we should raise awareness of people and owners about
these two types of concrete to avoid being afraid of trying something new.
Anyway, we are seeking to spread such culture in the field of building.
Q; What are the most important projects currently achieved by Consolis?
A: The current projects include Helwan power plant 2, Metro’s third line
and water supply pipelines in Toshka project. In addition to Cairo
Alexandria road water network, siphon water-way under the Suez Canal
project. .We are also carrying out a project in Cairo governorate to build
the first-ever concrete bus stations in Egypt, whose costs will be lower than
steel stations. This project will save time with post completion long periods
of good performance. Furthermore, we are going to sign contracts for
several projects to be announced later on.
Q; What are your most important projects in the Middle East?
A: We opened Consolis’s branches in Qatar, Riyadh and Dubai during the
last two years. So far, we have not signed contracts for projects yet,
