Egyptian Engineers Syndicate’s theater is one of the largest and most
important theaters in the Arab Republic of Egypt. It has witnessed many
events, activities and important artistic performances since its foundation in
the 1970th.
Egyptian Engineers Syndicate has been keen to keep the theater as a part of
its main headquarters. This important cultural platform proves that
engineering is an essential foundation for dissemination of culture through
engineering sciences that provides a founding environment for present and
expressive art and culture.
But this important cultural edifice suffering severe neglect till its role
disappeared of the Egyptian cultural scene to disappear behind the curtain
of underdevelopment and forgotten. This was until the Egyptian Engineers
Syndicate was revived again, as the Syndicate considers that the return of
the work in this theater is the best thing to express the spirit of renewal and
reform to what marred because of underdevelopment and time. It was the
Syndicate decision to renew and develop its building, expressing the
Renaissance and the enlightenment, which will be led by the Egyptian
Engineers Syndicate, the locomotive of progression and development in the
Arab Republic of Egypt’s.
Many work studies and alternatives to redesign and develop the theater
were developed, and after presenting these alternatives and proposals, the
decision was choosing the most appropriate form for the renewal process,
which is to turn the theater and its services to multi-purpose hall that fit to
become a conference hall with all its associated services such as
interpretation or cinema, as well as rooms, this in addition to using it as a
theater with its subsequent equipment and needs.
