Since graduation from the Department of Architecture in the
Faculty of Engineering of Alexandria University, I have been a
practicng architect, an academic, and a Senior Partner in –
and later the CEO of – the Alexandrian Consultant
Architectural Firm Abulfadl -El Hadary-ElKholy In 1983, I
obtained a Masters in Architecture focusing on healthcare
facilities for the disabled, and in 1991, a PhD about desert
communities using the New Valley district as a case study. My
academic specialization is Regional Planning and I teach both
graduate and undergraduate courses since 1979
inAlexandriaUniversity . I have taught classes in Architectural
Design; Building Construction; Excutional Working Drawings;
Site Management; Construction Management, and Business
Management, and I have also shared in the supervision of
several Masters dissertations. I published several academic
papers on a variety of topics such as informal housing
communities in Alexandria , school buildings and redisigning
public space as a tool for urban regeneration The projects
