EBDA3 MEN MASR AIMS AT EMPOWERING TRADITIONAL COMMUNITIES OF HANDMADE ARTISANS TO INCREASE ENTREPRENEURIAL OPPORTUNITIES & PROMOTE THE PRESERVATION OF THE HERITAGE OF EGYPTIAN CRAFTS AND ORIGINAL ARTWORK

“Ebda3 men Masr” is an initiative by ALEXBANK which evolved as one of the main CSR platforms launched in 2016 based on the concept of Creating Shared Value (CSV) where the bank becomes a full- fledged partner of citizens and community blending the creation of social value with the growth of the economy. This is achieved by empowering traditional communities to increase entrepreneurial opportunities promoting the preservation of the heritage of Egyptian crafts and original artwork, “Ebda3 men Masr” leverages on six founding pillars, including creation of opportunities for the economically marginalized communities, Women’s Economic Empowerment, Youth Employability, Fair Trading Practices, Capacity Building and Vocational Training to the handicrafts sector as well as Heritage Preservation. Women and youth in Upper Egypt are at the center of all projects. The initiative operates through three main goals: (i) to responsibly support micro economic initiatives under the umbrella of the CSR activity, promoting the financial inclusion concept versus economic subjects seen as potential tomorrow’s full customers for our core business; (ii) to support economically and socially underprivileged communities through providing access to vocational education and apprenticeship training for employment;
