WHO’S ABSENT DE SPITE THE PRESENCE.

I do not know how far I had luck choosing the title so I do not really know,
dear Egyptian architect, what the impression, significance or even the
impact that the title left in you, and seriously, I am afraid that you have
been shocked.
Let’s have a walk together around Egypt to see your presence or to confirm
your absence despite the presence, let me first assure you that I have a long
working relationships with most of the architects, and I have long, deep and
multiple friendships with famous Egyptian architects with different
orientations and schools of thought, some of them keen on their work to
achieve their personal glory through great works and architectural
monuments to commemorate their names, and some who have taken the
architecture and intellectual approach as a life style, as they see themselves
as messengers to defend the profession, whether from intruders or those
who ignore the principles or even those who try excluding architects from
doing their roles.
So where do we begin to trace the impact? Come with me wandering
around the patterns of civil, popular or random urbanization – as it is called
– along the length and width of Egypt, people build their houses according
to their vision and con cept of housing and according to their different uses
and what they see fit for their purposes of blanks and the result comes out
clearly; the design process in this sector can be seen if we walk for an hour
on the ring road, while your architectural theories emphasize the need to
respect the surrounding urban neighborhood and the need to match certain
specifications related to the facades and the width of the streets and even
residential areas,
