Although we received special generous offers to continue in working in
France, such as conferring citizenship of France and tempting to hold key
positions, we determinedly decided to come back to our homeland and start
establishing this Office. We have chosen the Office’s name to be composed
of our initials.
When the Office was established prior to the 1973 Arab- lsraeli War, Egypt
was prepared to be ready for the military war, while no attention was paid
to development, architecture and construction. All attention was focused
on the military field and the conditions were very difficult and critical until
1973 when the State started the development processes.
Our Company was initially established to be located in just two rooms in
Saraya el- Azbakeya St., downtown, Egypt, then we moved to wider
headquarters, and then we have moved to the current headquarters for
about eight years.
Q: What are the most important projects carried out by EHAF?
A: In 1973, we started operation in two very significant projects; the first of
which was Metro’s first line. There is a very well- known saying that “Any
city starts Metro projects will never stop”, which comes true so far. We
started with the Metros first line project with its phases, then the second
and third line with their phases and now we are partaking in the fourth line.
The second project was in the field of telephone, when the Egyptian
government, at that point, thought about the necessary improvement of
wired and wireless communications. Accordingly, we started improving
unlimited number of telephone centrals; as this project was one of the most
important projects in the 1980s, and thus, we had an integrated network of
telephones later on.
