Renewable energy resources are the main concern nowadays specially in
Egypt , and lack of energy is the future nightmare, consequently , Egypt is
very rich with different renewable energies , water area and low geothermal
ground temperatures in Egypt, which represent Geothermal renewable
capabilities would encourage to use it as a heat sink for all the heat
rejection equipment . The Proposal idea is when applying air-conditioning
system for all the logistic buildings serving the new Suez canal , and for all
the cooling storage goods areas beside the canal, the system proposed
would be a central District cooling plant with a geothermal pipes cooled
under the ground or floating on the sides of the canal The temperature of
water would be maximum in July 28 Odeg C which is very suitable for
cooling the condensers of the water cooled chillers as it requires 30 dego C,
the piping material is HDPE for the geothermal loop which is produced
locally , the land nature of the surrounding area is flat that would encourage
the chilled water piping to be efficiently distributed in straight lines to the
served building, the concept of this system was used in the West for such
large areas and was efficiently saving energy for decades, The proposal
idea would save than 60% of the total Air-conditioning sector consumption
running energy cost and the payback would be within 5 years.
