“Abo-Sultan Hotel” in Fayed district, “Durrat El- Mahashy Hotel” in Taba
City, “Al- Mawaa Palace” in Jordan, “Al- Wesol ” square in Hurghada City,
“Sahl   Hasheesh Hotel” in Sharm el Sheikh, “Mohamed Ali Club” in al Bahr
Al-Azam street in Giza and the “Nubian village” in Aswan. Moreover,
Ghaly designed a big number of houses like: “Ali Mango” in Jordan and
“Al- Haranya,” among others.
Each masterpiece has its special story, such as “Sahl   Hasheesh ” project. As
for this project, Ghaly says: “I had participated in a competition, when my
project was ranked first after I had adapted the mountainous nature of
Sahl   Hasheesh to match the purpose of my project. I divided the mountain
into fivelevel terraces, so that all buildings can overlook the sea. This idea
was the first of its kind in that time in Egypt.”
Accordingly, Ghaly won several awards. For example, he was awarded the
prize of Abu Dhabi Development Fund in 1987, Award of Appreciation
given by the Society of Egyptian Architects (SEA) in 1992. Furthermore,
Ghaly was nominated for Aga Khan Award for Architecture in 1999, Award
of Excellence from the Egyptian Architects Conference for tourism and
heritage architecture in 2006.
Although Ghaly has made great achievements and won awards during his
distinguished career, he is still looking forward to carry out one of his
architectural projects in ” Nubia ” as his graduation project was about it. He
said that Nubia has one of the greatest architectural examples characterized
by feminine touches; especially after one third of Nubia has been flooded
due to increasing the height of Aswan Dam, which prompted men to
migrate to Cairo for work and leave Nubian’s women to put their special
touches on houses there.
