VISION
Visitors wanting to visit the development will not travel far to find it because it
is easy to find, easy to reach, and will ultimately being a focal point of business
and leisure activities in the area. Easy accessible to all of the area’s main
highways in the 6th of October City, visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy
amazing views of and easy access to Greater Cairo, the Great Pyramids of
Giza, Smart Village, and the Egyptian museum to be built within close
proximity to the site. The site will be most distinguished for its high-end
services and commercial activities, combined with idyllic views of Egypt’s
historic sites and Cairo’s beauty.
The name “Zayed Edge” has both literal and symbolic meanings in that this
new mixed-use development is physically on the edge of a plateau and in
that its quality as a high-end hub for numerous activities gives its
“competitive edge”. Architects have, hence, conceptualized an interactive
‘desert park’ that is easily accessible and compromises of a number of
different leisurely services including hospitality, entertainment /
edutainment, shopping, medical facilities, and food / beverage.
Celebrating the exotic elements of the past with ground-breaking innovative
techniques of the future, Elgabaky Architects vision in this project seeks
bring back to life and reignite radical ancient Egyptian building traditions
and techniques, through showing the practicality of ancient plateaus in a
contemporary setting. In doing so, Elgabaly Architecture, even in festive,
entertaining hubs such as that of Zayed City Edge. It also pays tribute to
architecture wonders such as that of Abu Simbel and Petra in Jordan
