Intuition plus creativity
Intuition is the soul’s work that feeds our rational minds. Creativity is born
out of their intimate interaction.

In essence, intuition is here perceived as the ability to understand something
instinctively without the need for conscious reasoning. The vital importance
of intuition in creativity should not be neglected, as it is one of the core
ingredients of the “idea generation process”, which, in conjunction with idea
evaluation, are crucial phases of the creative cognition. In connection with
design, this “ability” is presented as a non-rational pull. Prompting us
humans to follow through a particular path, explore a seemingly
incongruous idea to form an unexpected, surprising conclusion. It is the
nature of intuition to spark and guide creativity and as such, it is a core
component for anything now to happen in the REAL WORLD. It is the act
of making something, that did not exist before
It must be noted though, that creativity rarely happens for creativity’s sake –
intuition is always somehow engaged in response.
to an idea, vision or objective. The ensuing process of listening, extracting
and understanding is where the Magic begins. The real challenge lies where
one is required to hand over the controls, trust one’s experience and be
ready to be led wherever the intuitive mind chooses to take us. The reward
of relinquishing control is an unpredictable, out of the box thinking process
that delivers true differentiation. By allowing this process to unfold, we
arrive, as designers, at an unexpected but meaningful result which tells a
story that touches others.
