It has a central dome n the center with a diameter of 21 meters and ength
of 52 meters of the ground.
This dome is carried by 4 huge pillars and it is surrounded by four half
domes then a fifth one in addition to four small domes in the corners of
The masque.
The original dais is made of wood and ornamented with golden decorations.
It’s regarded as one of the highest dais on the Islamic world. As for the
small marble dais, it was established as per the orders of King Farouq in
1358 Hijri /1939. The mosque is lightened up by beautiful crystal
chandeliers, and the chandeliers are surrounded by 365 lanterns to be as
many as the days of the ears are.
There is also a bench for the muezzins in the western section. It is as long
as the mosque is and it is set up on right marble pillars and has diametric
decorations. The bench has copper fence to be reached from above by
staircases.
In the western section, the shrine of Mohamed Ali could be found. It’s
made of marble and surrounded by copper plated with gold. It mixes the
Islamic ornamental style with the Turkish one. It’s influenced by the
baroque and Roukoko architecture style.
The last thing to mention is that all the internal and external walls of the
mosque are platted with marble and they tower up to 11 meters, which
makes the mosque worthy of being called the Marble Mosque.
