NEW EGYPTIAN CAPITAL
PROS AND CONS

Cairo is the epicenter of events and the historical capital of Egypt but the current
urban infrastructure marred by instability and disintegration of its elements because
of the absence of scientific and integrated environmental and urban development
which take into account the balance between the needs of current and future
generations, the bright future of Egypt is based strategically on an integrated start for
the wheel of development and reconstruction with scientific methods and an
ambitious national plan for human development aimed at all political, economic and
urban hubs, bold confrontation became defiant duty by all to overcome the crisis
caused by continuation of Cairo as administrative capital of Egypt with slums and over
population led to loss the hope of the future generations to achieve the Egyptian
dream on 100% of the Egyptian lands, the article proposed location for the new
administrative capital of Egypt by reading some international experiences in
transferring capital cities to extract the important lessons learned from these
experiences with determination of the motives and importance of establishing a new
capital and study the new administrative capital proposed east Cairo.
Why capital cities moved? Capitals moved because of Authority where the decision
needs management and leadership aware of the repercussions of the decision against
the popular opposition & the emotional attachment & decision-makers opinions, or for
Technical reasons where the need to develop agenda with the point of views of the elite
to justify political ecisions , also because of Geopolitics where the choice of site which
enables effective competitive opportunities (out from the stereotypes of legacy and
search for flexible alternatives).
