Principles
Earthen ramps envelop the site, defining
The entry points, shielding the exterior valls from the sun, shading the above around
parked vehicles and acting as a walkway which leads up to the roof.
densely planted roof level acts as a test for a multitude of organic life. A series of
circular sun shades, solar panels and water collectors support this ecosystem, creating
habitable exterior spaces beneath them.
A raised Science Garden envelops and unites the separate programmes on the upper
level allowing people to wonder freely through each exhibition space and observe those
at work simultaneously. It is a place of free movement and discovery.
The observatory tower provides 360 degree views of the surrounding landscape and
incorporates a shaded roof garden, leaning towards the Great Pyramids and becoming
wider as it rises to shade the levels below.
