Syria, Libya and Yemen is still present in our memory, they were all destroyed and

abused just because they dared to refuse submission and imagined their ability to
disobey the masters!
All the above might appear far from the line of these articles concerning Planning and
Development, but this is far from being true, as Planning »the art of dealing with the
future » can never be successful without a clear and deep understanding of the present.
For it is politics that acts as the main vessel transforming plans from simple
documented dreams into a future reality. It is useless to imagine the possibility of
planning in isolation from digesting the present that is the raw material of the future.
The reality we are living today carries projections of a future still under construction,
especially when humanity is today passing through inflection points that would for sure
change the basics of the world we’re living in. We are now at the edge of a new world
unfamiliar to us, and we will have to deal with it through a new vocabulary still being
created. We might even state that the coming years will determine whether humanity
would go through a much darker tunnel or would be capable of escaping it towards a
much more humane and colorful horizon; and that is what we are intending to discuss in
our next articles.
