Hence, the main aim of the Art Deco style is to use unique and rare
materials to reach a level of mystery and richness in style, which
characterized the post-Modernism move .
Art Deco style mixes simplicity with abstraction, complexity, and
contradiction. It also mixes the diverse, decorative and sculptural-shaped
surfaces with the flat and pure surfaces. This all is achieved by mixing the
use of advanced technological techniques, and the well-known traditional
materials which are best known for their strangeness, scarcity and modern
materials. This style also blends the one-color system with the multi-colors
one in many subjects. Art Deco also mixes the historical styles with the
diverse local cultures as they are considered as the references for inspiration
and modernism lines inspired by the beauty of simple mechanism. This mix
is one of core pillars of creating an artistic trend that suits a wide range of
international communities that have various tastes and cultures .
This style also approaches the Post-modern-ism in the use of formative arts
like sculpture , graphic arts, and graphics and reviving some   handcrafted-
works such as   marquetry , inlaying , Stencils, metal works, stained-glass
fille dwith lead or terracotta coating… etc .
The subjects were also popular for the figura-tive styles, imitation, various
levels of symbol-ism, in addition to using traditional materials along with
creative modern materials. That was a call for using the Art Deco again in
the creative works of Post-Modernism which enrich our social lives, which
is considered as the main aim of Post-Modernism. Hence, the linking lines
between Art Deco and Post-Modernism pushed them to revive the main
styles and themes of Art Deco again.
