The data would then be analyzed to identify the structural condition and problems of an existing bridge with possible, alert alarm systems to notify promptly the decision maker of possible needed intervention. Unfortunately these types of integrated SHM towards effective infrastructure and bridge maintenance are still required to be developed in Egypt.

This is the main need currently of all bridge authorities in Egypt for reliable decision making to preserve our national bridges.
HBRC the. Housing and Building National Research Center, is currently conducting the most integrated bridge testing campaigns in Egypt. These Bridge test campaigns done by the testing team in the structures and steel construction research institute lead by Prof.

Mohamed A Zaki the head of the institute involves Static load testing, Dynamic load testing, Dynamic Modal testing Deformed shape surveys by laser and optical instruments, UT weld testing, Magnetic particle testing, Vickers hardness testing,
coating thickness IJT measurements, IJT Bearing Testing in addition to customary concrete QA testing. From the deep concern about the important need for effective SHM regimes to be built in EGYPT, The team has decided to also organize
the HBRC-ISHMII 2nd International conference on Bridge Testing Monitoring and Assessment. The conference is co-organized with ISHMII the International Society for Structural Health Monitoring of Intelligent Infrastructure.

Organizations and Experts in the field from different parts of the world are expected to participate. The conference will be accompanied also by. a hands on bridge testing experience workshop. The conference will be held in Caio,2729-th of December which is also the best time in the year to visit Cairo and the Beautiful Egypt.
