Artist Nabil   Ghaly
Excellent Originality of Heritage and Contemporary Development
NABIL GHALY is a first-class architect and artist who has provided
excellent architectural designs throughout 50 years. His designs integrate
the excellent originality of Egyptian old heritage, for which he has earnestly
sought to maintain, with modernity and development suitable for the spirit
prevailing at the time being. Accordingly, his designed works are among the
most famous architectural designs in Egypt and worldwide.
He is a member of the International Union of Architects (UIA) and Deputy
Chairman of Association of Egyptian Architects and Africa Union of
Architects (AUA).
Ghaly graduated from Faculty of Fine Arts (Architecture Department) in 1
962, and since then he has practiced the design and implementation of
different architectural works for more than 50 years. Ghaly has presented
distinguished creative products expressing the excellent originality of
architecture with its different elements; including stones, wood, marble and
other components. He has been deeply affected by his professors at Faculty
of Fine Arts (like Architect Hassan Fathy and Ramsis   Wesa   Wasef ), and
thus he has opted for architecture and arts of Egypt.
Ghaly started his work at the Cooperative Association of Building until 1
973, in addition to working at his private office “El- Haraneya for
Architecture and Furniture”.
After 1 973, Ghaly devoted himself full-time to work at his office. He
designed and carried out several projects; including palaces, hotels,
mosques and dwelling houses all over Egypt and Arab World. In 1981,
Ghaly founded, along with artists Azza   Fahmy and Randa   Fahmy , Al Ain
Gallery for restoring and reviving heritage. This Gallery is one of the most
famous galleries worldwide and characterized by its special collections of
jewelry and copper, wood and marble works.
