Cardiff Bay Opera House in Wales, in addition to Rome’s National
Museum of the 21st Century Arts. Hadid’s world designs also included
Heyday Aliyev Cultural Centre in Baku-Azerbaijan, a compound in the
High Line in Manhattan, Strasbourg tramway in Germany and Sheikh
Zayed Bridge in Abu Dhabi-UAE. Furthermore, Hadid designed London
Aquatics Centre for the 2012 Summer Olympics in the United Kingdom
and a stadium in Qatar for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
It was planned that Hadid would supervise the building of a stadium for
Tokyo 2020 Olympics, but her project was not approved due to high
costs.
Hadidcontributed in the design of several projects, including Dubai Opera
House, Dubai’s Futuristic Floating Building in the United Arab Emirates, the
New National Stadium of Japan Venue and the cultural center in Japan. She
also designed the Grand Theatre in Rabat- Morocco, the Central Bank of
Iraq and Riyadh’sunderground.
Hadidorganized many international exhibitions for her art works, including
architectural designs and paintings, starting with a major exhibition in
London’s Architectural Association in 1983. She also held a number of
large exhibitions in New York’s Guggenheim Museum in 1978,GA Gallery
in Tokyo in 1985, Museum of Modern Art, New York in 1988 and the
post-graduates department of Design at Harvard University in 1995.
Hadid’s works are part of the permanent exhibitions at the Museum of
Modern Art in New York and the Museum of German Architecture in
Frankfurt.
Hadid got certificates of appreciation from the legends of architecture such
as Japanese Kenzo Tange and made a name for herself in world of
international architecture. In 2004, Hadid was the first female that gets the
PritzkerArchitecture Prize, which is equivalent to the value of the Nobel
Prize.
