The association started collecting most of the printed material that was published
locally including its dates and each newspaper or magazine development. Also, they
needed to highlight on the different methods of printing, the tools and machinery.
 – The design took in consideration not to mix the new with the old style of the building.
Keeping the building identity was achieved by enhancing its architectural vocabulary.
The choice of materials had a major part in the design concept. The use of transparent
and light structures helped in achieving the goal of keeping the historic building identity
and fulfilling the design aspirations without confusing the visitors and user of the
museum .
This is in addition to the documentation of the lives of the pioneers and founders of this
profession in the country, their work, their pictures and the related important
belongings.
So the design team started on preparing an idea on how to conserve this historic
building to its original condition and still changing its function to host the museum. The
design was aware of the brilliance in choosing this building and its historic value that
can be used as part of the psychological mood for the visitors of the museum. It
actually helps to transfer them to another phase of time through a journey in history that
gives another dimension on thru display and the material displayed. The building was
used as a house that was designed in an introvert style. It consisted of a main courtyard
where all the other rooms of different uses opened on it. Also, a small staircase that
takes you to the roof of these rooms.
