“know your country: craftino in Nubia” A Journey in a Book craftino is a 10 years old
boy who attended a story telling about the land of Nubia, South of Aswan, Egypt.
Throughout the Journey, he learned about the Nubian civilization; culture, architecture,
arts, and crafts. Arriving at nubia , craftino met a homeless family, and decided to help
them build three own house following what he learned from master crafter, Upon the
completion of the house, the village celebrated crafting in the new family house. That
was the main content of the interactive
Collage book and game about Nubia, illustrated to introduce vernacular
architechitecture to early childhood children, The book is one of a series, in which
crafting travels through the different remote govern orates of Egypt. In each book of the
series, children are introduced to the history and culture of a unique Egyptian region,
They listen to the story, enjoy the book, and build authentic paper houses of each
region. The game also includes stickers of patterns and decorations, so children can
personalize their houses and colour them. The narrated stories, book and game are
suitable for ages up to 12 Years old and can be used as an edutainment tool at schools
Master crafter is an independent community that gathers up crafters of all kinds (paper
craft, wire sculpting, clay sculpting, etc…). started as students’ group several years ago,
the team now works in different projects and fields through its league, community and
academy. Joining in numerous events all around Egypt.
