Last year, 2016,1% of the world’s population owned more than half its global wealth,

while the remaining 99% are all struggling to survive with the remaining half. Such
horrifying injustice towards the greater majority did not occur by coincidence. It is
actually the logical outcome of decades of systematic deception.
Democracy was supposed to guarantee the participation of the people in its system of
government. It has lost its meaning, when it has effectively turned into “Plutonomy ”,
allowing wealth to control the political arena and direct the outcome to benefit the
richest 1 %. By financing political campaigns, they appoint whomever they want into
executive posts and legislative chairs. Political money has become, in effect, the
colonial high-commissioner, moving the strings from behind the curtain. Meanwhile,
the media they control is able to manipulate the minds of the voters and direct them
towards specific choices. In today’s world, the cost of reaching the constituents has
become so high that it requires an enormous amount of capital to fund a political
campaign. It is no longer possible for a candidate to rely solely on individual
contributions from supporters for adequate funding. This has allowed political cash to
take full control over politics and turn politicians from opinion leaders to mere
representatives for financial tycoons within governments and decision making
corridors. Not only to defend their interests, but mainly to channel the whole system
towards serving these interests at the expense of citizens that suffer from fatal
injustice.
