In Great Cairo and On December 23rd 1917, the Association of Architects in Egypt
was founded by the great archi tect Ismail Bey Omar. It was the first scientific
engineering association in Egypt and the Middle East. It was an important initiative in
the way of liberty from the British colonization and Egypt was governed by the Sultan
of Free doms, Sultan Hussein Kamel, who encouraged science and freedoms, two years
later, Egyptians demonstrated against the British and that was 1919 revolution which
led Egypt to have its full political, civil and military independence. Then a beautiful
national Egyptian architecture had emerged with an authentic Egyptian-Arab
architectural identity, influenced by French and European culture in architecture so in
1932, the beautiful Cairo awarded the prize of the most beautiful capital in the world.
It was a wonderful era for Egyptians.
During 1930s and 1950s, a great group of Egyptian architects appeared, such as the
Egyptian architects: Hassan Bey   Fathi , Ramses Wissa   Wassef , Antoine Nahas , Chari
Habib   Airout , Mostafa Pasha Hosni,Abou-Bakr   Khairat , AN Labib   Gabr, and many
others,
And during 1960s till 1980s, when the socialist architecture appeared side by side
with the modern architecture which caused appearing of new generation of architects
such as: AN Noureddine   Nassar , Yousif   Shafik , AN Raafat ,, Salah Zaytoun , Mustafa
Shawki , Dr. Shafiq Hosni, Jalal Mo’men ,, Amina Maher, Michael Fouad,Taher Al- Sadiq ,
Sayed El- Komi , Abou-Zaid   Ragea , Dr. Mahmoud Yousri Salah El-Din Hijab, Dr. Zakeya
Hassan Shafei, Dr. Abdel-Mohasen   Barada , Prof. Dr. Yahia Abdullah, Dr.
Sayed El- Touni , Dr. MohamedTawfik Abdel- Jawad , Nasamat Abdel- Qader , Dr. Murad
Abdel- Qader , Dr. Farouk El-Go- hari . Dr. Ghazali   Ksiba , Dr. Abdul Halim Ibrahim,
Jamal Bakri , and Dr. Abdel Wahed El-Wakil.
